Fire

Fire is one of the four classical elements in ancient Greek philosophy and science, long associated with passion and power. It is both creative and destructive—impulsive, transformative, and infused with a sense of mystery. Fire embodies the energy of courageously stepping into change, of embracing the unknown with vitality and strength.

A flame will continue to burn only when heat, oxygen, and fuel are present. Watching fire closely, one discovers its many colors, each revealing different intensities of heat: red, orange, and yellow often crown the flame, while blue and white glow at its base. This spectrum reflects the element’s dual nature—both fragile and fierce, fleeting and eternal.

To me, fire symbolizes enthusiasm, warmth, movement, and spiritual radiance. The creation of a Sunfire painting involves layering materials again and again, each stage revealing a new dimension of transformation. No two works are ever the same; each is a unique manifestation of fire’s restless and luminous energy.
